FOREST FOLIAGE WALLPAPER
– GOVERNOR’S RESIDENCE HOTEL, YANGON –
Governor's Residence is Yangon's premier luxury hotel, an elegant, well preserved 1920's teak mansion located in the Embassy Quarter of this charming and historic city. In anticipation of its refurbishment, the proprietor commissioned Victoria to design a custom wallpaper inspired by tropical scenes and the whimsical themes of Rudyard Kipling's, The Jungle Book.
The wallpaper features native flora and fauna elements, including unique flowers and trees like Amherstia Nobilis, Traveler’s Palm and King Ferns. Amidst the foliage, guests can catch glimpses of the rare and elusive Myanmar snub-nosed monkey, with its facial features and soulful eyes, engaging in playful antics.
The naturalistic painting style captures the lush foliage of the forestry with the agile snub monkeys swinging between the branches amidst the tropical plants. Our traditional Chinese painters meticulously capture the intricate details and nuances of the Burmese evergreen landscape through their masterful brushwork.
