In early 2020, Victoria was approached by close friend Kim Jones (Artistic Director, Dior Men’s) to collaborate on the brand’s upcoming Fall Winter 2021 collection. With the collection due to be launched in Beijing, the Dior team wanted to identify top-tier Chinese artisans to hand embroider pieces for the ready-to-wear and accessories items.

Using her knowledge of Chinese embroidery techniques and network of artisans and makers, Victoria identified a team of 30 skilled embroiderers to work on the project over a 5 month period. Victoria acted as the project lead, working closely with Edward Crutchley (Director of Fabric and Graphics, Dior Men’s) and managing the creative direction and quality control of the pieces delivered to the Dior team for finishing.

"We worked with lots of different Chinese artisans. And with my friend Victoria Tang. I wanted someone who knew the specialists in every area - to take something of that world and bring it into couture"
