VICTORIA

TANG-OWEN

is a creative director, designer, consultant and brand collaborator. Born in London and raised in Hong Kong and Japan, Victoria developed a passion for art and design during her high school years in Tokyo. She completed her BA in Graphic Design at the renowned Central Saint Martins in London in 2007 and has since worked as a photographer and designer for some of the world's most renowned brands and publications.

When people ask me what I do, I say that I’m a creative person. I love to create no matter the outlet, that’s my nature.

fter graduation Victoria worked as portrait and fashion photographer, shooting backstage at fashion shows

and commissioned to shoot for publications such as Vogue, V Magazine and GQ China.

She co-edited the inaugural V Magazine Asia Issue in 2011. On the design side, Victoria has served as Artistic Director of Issa London; Creative Director of lifestyle brand Tang Tang Tang Tang; and Creative Director of iconic luxury brand Shanghai Tang (where she initiated collaborations with prominent figures including with renowned Chinese artist Xu Bing).

 

In 2015, Victoria launched multi-disciplinary creative agency, Thirty30 Creative, specialising in branding, packaging design and creative consultancy. Five years later, Victoria launched her eponymous collaborative platform, Victoria Tang Studio, a space where Chinese craftsmanship is celebrated and brought to the forefront of Victoria's design philosophy. This passion for skilled handcraft is exemplified by her recent work with Dior Men's Artistic Director Kim Jones, who entrusted Victoria with overseeing the production of a selection of couture pieces incorporating traditional Chinese Seed Embroidery in his recent Pre-Fall 2021 collection. 

 

Outside the studio, Victoria serves as President of The Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association and supports numerous charitable causes such as amfAR, Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation and Save Wild Tigers.
